For all Bloomberg and EMSX default views the data is coming from Bloomberg APIs. Active APIs in this application are Bloomberg Reference Data, Bloomberg Market Data (real time), and Bloomberg EMSX. Additionally, there is an API selection for Custom Metrics which are calculations based off of Bloomberg metrics. What is the difference between APPLE US Equity and APPLE UW? APPLE US Equity is showing returns for Bloomberg’s Composite Exchanges. Data metrics with the suffix US Equity aggregate all US exchanges. APPLE UW is showing returns for Bloomberg’s Primary Index. For Apple the primary exchange is UW or Nasdaq. Metrics with the specific Exchange suffix will return information only for that exchange. How Do I create a custom metric? Contact Aqumin support to add new custom metrics. support@aqumin.com How do I determine the calculation for a custom metric? Custom metrics are calculations based off of 1 or more Bloomberg Fields. The calculation is listed in the tooltip and can be seen when hovering over the custom metric. What if there is a bad data point? NA’s and exceptions will be shown in RED in the Inspector Legend and Details panel. The tooltip will display why the data point is invalid or NA. NA indicates that the data metric is Not Available from the Bloomberg API. What does the time stamp reflect? The time stamp is set to correspond with your Bloomberg Terminal. How is my Order and Route data treated in the landscape? The application comes with EMSX as the Implict Data source for all Bloomberg related views. That means that for any Bloomberg market data or Reference data landscape you also have access to EMSX fields with route and order information. This allows you to Overlay Orders and Routes on landscapes and to change landscape properties (Height, Color, etc.) to EMSX fields. How do I change the Data Source of my Route and Order Data? If your order and route data is in a system other than EMSX, you can export that data into an Excel or CSV and use that spreadsheet as the Implicit Data Source. To change the Implicit Data Source to a spreadsheet: Go to Tools>Settings> Custom EMS Routes Source. Use the file browser to locate and select the appropriate CSV. When you reopen a Bloomberg Landscape, the spreadsheet will now be your Implicit data source for Routes and Orders. You will see the Excel Icon listed with the data Icons in all BBG landscapes. How do I format my spreadsheet to use as an Implicit Data Source? In order for route and order data to be mapped appropriately to Bloomberg landscapes, your spreadsheet needs to be properly formatted. It is necessary to have a RouteId, OrderId, Ticker Column similar to the example spreadsheet in the application. How do I modify or cancel an EMSX Order using the landscape? In a Bloomberg landscape, orders can be modified or canceled in 2 locations, the Order Details section on the inspector and by using the Right Click Action Menu. How do I change the list of stocks or orders that I am looking at in my landscape? Clicking Revert will reset the landscape to its shipped properties. How do I change a landscape category? Simply click on a landscape name and drag and drop to the appropriate category. If you want to create a new category, right click on the landscape name and select Properties. You can enter a new category name in the pop up dialogue box. How do I add a custom list or custom Universe to my landscape? To add a custom universe click on the current universe and select Custom List> Import Excel/CSV. Use the file browser to select the appropriate spreadsheet and apply it to the landscape. This list will be saved to your application. **Note, this is a static list/universe and does not update. If there are changes to the worksheet, you have to reimport the worksheet to modify the list. What is the difference between Adding a Data Source and Adding a Custom List? Adding a Custom List adds a List of Securities and gives you quick access to that universe but does not update with the spreadsheet. How do I save a data source to a landscape?
